Kadapa: Bengaluru police have busted a fake currency racket and arrested two people including the Director of Andhra Pradesh Bondili Corporation. Police have seized 818 fake notes with a face value of Rs 4,09,000 from their possession.

Police have identified the director as Rasaputra Rajani. She is associated with the ruling YSRCP in the Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh.

There were also allegations of cheating against her. She is accused of extracting huge money from unemployed youth on the pretext of providing jobs. She is said to be in a close associate of Podduturu MLA R Siva Prasad Reddy.

According to the police, the arrested have been identified as Charan Singh (47) and R Rajani (38), a native of Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh.

The duo was arrested on January 24, when they were reportedly involved in the exchange of fake currency notes with a dealer.

A preliminary investigation found that Rajani was involved in the fake currency notes business for a long time. It is found that these notes are being bought from Anantapur at a low price and circulated in Bengaluru.

Police have registered a case and put the investigation on the fast track. Police are looking for others involved in the fake currency racket.
