Bhadradri Kothagudem: Wanted Maoist leader Lachanna among six killed in encounter

Kothadudem: Six Maoists including top leader Lachanna were killed in an exchange of fire in Bhadradri Kothagudem district.

Acting on specific information about the presence of Maoists in Karakagudem Mandal, the Greyhounds launched the operation in the forest area of Niladripet.

Reports said main members of the Lachanna Dalam, a group active in the Bhadradri Kothagudem district died. The members used to frequently move between Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana.

One of the slain was identified as Lachanna. He was a Maoist Party leader who had been active in the area after moving from Chhattisgarh.

During the operation, a Greyhounds constable was severely injured.

Two AK-47 rifles and one SLR were recovered during the operation.
