Bhongir police nab 3 notorious burglars; seize items worth Rs. 23L
The gang used to target isolated houses and those located on roadsides in the outskirts of villages
By Newsmeter Network Published on 6 Jun 2022 12:43 PM GMTHyderabad: The CCS Bhongir police arrested three notorious house burglars on 6 June and seized from them gold, silver, and cash worth Rs. 25 lakhs.
Dasari Murali (26), Kuthati Paramesh (28), and Thota Saraiah (38) were apprehended at Raigir junction while the police were conducting vehicle checks. On being questioned, they revealed that they had been involved in 16 offences since August 2021 in various districts of Telangana, including Nirmal, Badradri Kothagudem, and Nizamabad.
The police seized 44.5 tulas of gold ornaments, 1.2 kg silver ornaments, Rs. 1.59 lakh cash, a vehicle and two cell phones ā all worth Rs. 25,93,820 ā from the gang.
Dasari Murali had been arrested twice by the Rachakonda police. He had also been detained by the Nellikiduru police of Mahabubabad district under the PD Act. He had stolen 84 tulas of gold from a newly-married couple's house in Midjil PS limits in Mahaboob Nagar following which the PD Act had been invoked against him a second time. He was released on 24 August 2021. During interrogation, he confessed to committing 17 offences in various police station limits. Earlier, he was involved in 37 cases in various districts of Telangana. Kuthati Paramesh is also a habitual offender and was involved in 52 cases in various districts of Telangana. Meanwhile, the third accused, Thota Saraiah, has been involved in only one case in Nirmal district and has no past criminal history.
