Bowenpally constable dismissed for extortion
On April 15, constable Akash Bhatt spotted G.Praveen Kumar and his female friend near Bowenpally Dairy farm. He accosted and abused them. Later he demanded money from the duo. He initially collected Rs 15,000 and set them free after noting down their phone numbers.

Hyderabad City Police Commissioner C V Anand dismissed a constable of Bowenpally Police Station for extortion.
On April 15, constable Akash Bhatt spotted G.Praveen Kumar and his female friend near Bowenpally Dairy farm. He accosted and abused them. Later he demanded money from the duo. He initially collected Rs 15,000 and set them free after noting down their phone numbers.
Later Akash Bhatt continued to harass the victims over the phone and demanded more money. He extorted an additional Rs 15,000 from the duo.
After receiving the complaint, SHO Bowenpally registered a case and arrested the constable. He was dismissed from service with immediate effect as his act amounts to moral turpitude in a disciplined force.
