CCTV footage helps TTD identify man who stole Rs. 2L from laddu complex

Tirupati: Vigilance officers of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) have identified the man who stole Rs. 2 lakhs from an employee working at laddu counters in Tirumala. CCTV footage revealed that the accused was Seethapathy who has a criminal history. He is still absconding.

A case has been registered under Tirumala I Town police station limits.

According to TTD officials, Raja Kishore started working at the Tirumala Laddu Complex which is run by Shri Lakshmi Srinivasa Man Power Corporation a month ago. On the night of 23 January, after completing his duties at counter 36, Kishore kept Rs. 2 lakhs that were collected from the sale of laddu in a bag. He forgot to set the clock and slept at the counter. When he woke up in the morning, he could not find the cash bag. He complained to the vigilance officers.

The officers examined the CCTV footage and identified the suspect as Sitapathy, an old criminal.

After the incident, TTD has deployed an additional 20 security guards at the laddu complex so that such incidents do not recur. Also, the staff working at the laddu counters are being trained to be vigilant while on duty.
