Cheating case filed on Telugu actor Raj Tharun by alleged live-in partner

Hyderabad: A complaint has been lodged with the police here against Telugu film actor Raj Tharun, alleging that he cheated on his live-in partner.

The woman in her complaint to the Narsingi police on Thursday evening stated that she and Raj Tharun were in a romantic relationship for a decade. She also alleged that he cheated on her with another woman. The complainant expressed her desire to live with Raj Tharun.

The complaint is being looked into, police said, adding that they will proceed as per evidence submitted by the complainant. Raj Tharun has acted in films including Uyyala Jampala, Kumari 21 F and Cinema Chupista Mava.

Meanwhile, Raj Tharun told reporters, “I had maintained a relationship with Lavanya earlier and it’s not a lie. After 2017, there is no physical relationship between us. I am only fearing of losing my reputation in the film industry. That’s why I remained calm all these years. I would proceed legally in the matter, including complaining to the police.” He also said that Lavanya and her brother threatened film actress Malvi Malhotra with whom he worked in a film recently.

“I am leading a normal life and whenever Lavanya required money she asked me. If Lavanya really wants to continue a relationship with me, almost eight years ago she filed an FIR against Mastan Sai asking him to marry her. At present, Lavanya is staying in my flat with Mastan Sai and she is addicted to drugs. I have gratitude for her because she supported me while I came to Hyderabad. I left my flat with a fear of losing my reputation,” Raj Tharun said.
