Chhattisgarh man nabbed for slew of robberies in Vizianagaram, 6.1 kgs of gold ornaments recovered

The police recovered 6.181 kg of gold, 90.52 of silver, and cash Rs. 15,000 from Lokesh Srinivas. Lokesh, who is from Chhattisgarh, has been named as accused in 11 robbery cases in Odisha and Chhattisgarh.
According to the police, on 21 February Lokesh stole gold and silver from a shop in Vizianagaram. A complaint was lodged at I-Town police station by the shop owner regarding the theft of 8 kg of gold worth Rs. 1.36 crore. A team was formed by the district SP and an investigation was launched. The teams were sent to Chhattisgarh.
On 24 February, the police arrested Lokesh and recovered 6.181 kg gold from him. The cops found that he was involved in three other robberies and recovered 90.52 gms of silver and Rs. 15,000 cash from him.
"While he was in jail for a robbery, Lokesh became acquainted with another person from Srikakulam. He came to Vizianagaram for the first time on 16 January and started committing the crimes," said Vizianagaram SP M. Deepika.
