Chittor: Six-person gang tries to break into trader’s home with guns; four arrested
The alerted house owner immediately dialled 100 and sought police help

Chittoor: Tension prevailed in the Chittoor District after six persons broke into the house of a trader on Wednesday morning. They reportedly had fake guns with which they tried to commit burglary.
Just hours after the incident, the police arrested four persons accused of being part of the gang and launched an operation to nab the remaining.
According to the police, the gang, suspected to be from North India, targeted a residence near Gandhi High Road around 4:50 am.
The accused, travelling in a Maruti Omni van with a Tamil Nadu registration and a press board sticker, attempted to break into a house. Four of them reportedly had firearms.
However, their suspicious movements were captured on the home’s CCTV system. The alerted house owner immediately dialled 100 and sought police help.
Responding immediately, police teams rushed to the spot and successfully apprehended four suspects, while the other two managed to escape.
Chittoor Superintendent of Police (SP) Manikanta Chandolu visited the scene to oversee the investigation and directed the formation of special teams to nab the absconding criminals.
Further investigation is ongoing.
