Hyderabad: Choppandani MLA Medipalli Satyam's wife Rupa Devi died by suicide. She was found hanging in her house in Alwal on Thursday night..
The couple live in Panchsheela Colony, Alwal with their two children. The reason for suicide are not known yet.
The police reached the spot and registered a case.
Rupa Devi was a teacher.
Satyam is the newly elected MLA from Choppandani constituency in Karminagar district. It is an SC reserved constiutency.
According to sources, police suspect that Rupa Devi took this extreme step due to financial problems.
Congress party workers reached out
Transport minister Poonam Prabhakar and Congress party workers of Karimnagar reached out to Satyam who was inconsolable. The body was taken to Renova Hospitals by the family members.
Shocked family members are not able to understand why did Devi take her life.
