CISF seizes 65K Saudi Riyals from Abu Dhabi-bound passenger at Hyderabad airport

Hyderabad: Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) intelligence team on Monday seized 65,000 Saudi Riyals (worth Rs 13 lakh in Indian currency) from a passenger at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Shamshabad.

During checking, the CISF Intelligence team recovered 65,000 Saudi Riyals from the bag of 36-year old passenger Syed Khalid, who was about to travel to Abu Dhabi this morning.

The CISF handed over the passenger and the bag to the Customs officials. A case was registered. However, the passenger was released and allowed to board the flight, the sources said.

Earlier on October 25, the CISF Intelligence team seized 50,500 Saudi Riyals at Hyderabad Airport. The seized amount is equivalent to Rs. 10 lakh in Indian currency.

CISF became suspicious of a 40-year-old passenger, Aliya Banu, who was traveling to Abu Dhabi. Later, Saudi currency was recovered from her bag. The case was handed over to the Customs department for further investigation.
