Hyderabad: Counter-insurgency expert M. Stephen Raveendra on Wednesday took charge as Cyberabad Commissioner of Police. He took charge from VC Sajjanar who has been appointed as Managing Director of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC).
Raveendra said he would give his best for the smooth functioning of the Cyberabad police unit and ensure the best of service to the general public. A 1999 IPS officer, Raveendra has worked as ASP and SP in the Maoist affected districts of Warangal, Adilabad, Karimnagar, and Ananthapur. He has a rich experience in handling Left Wing Extremism, faction Crime, Communalism, Anti Narcotics, etc. He has also worked as Joint Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad Commissionerate.
Earlier, he also worked as DCP of East and West Zone, Hyderabad City Police, and SP of CM Security Group.He also posted Greyhounds for five years. He led operations as Assault Commander, Group Commander and as Deputy Inspector General of Police. He achieved considerable operational success in Chattisgarh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana.
A recipient of Police Medal for Gallantry in 2005, he was also awarded Prime Minister's Life Saving Medal in 2011, Police Medal for Meritorious Services in 2016 and Antrik Suraksha Seva Padak.
