Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Drug Disposal Committee destroyed 872 kg of narcotics worth Rs 2,25,93,285 (Rs 2.25 crore) on Tuesday.
The narcotics were seized in 37 cases under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act in Madhapur, Balanagar, Medchal, Rajendranagar and Shamshabad covering 12 police stations within Cyberabad Police Commissionerate limits.
Under the supervision of Telangana State Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TGANB) director Sandeep Shandilya and CP Cyberabad Avinash Mohanty, IPS, the Drug Disposal Committee of the Cyberabad Police destroyed 872 kg of narcotic drugs destroyed at the GJ Multiclave (India) Pvt, Ltd. (Common Bio-Medical Waste Treatment and Disposal Facility) Edulapally Village, Nandigama Mandal, Ranga Reddy District.
The 845.281 kg of narcotics contained three ganja plants (61 grams), 26.819 kg of ganja chocolates, 7.5 ml of hashish oil, 9.168 grams of MDMA and 502 grams of Alprazolam.
The committee included chairman DCP Crimes K Narasimha, ACP Cyber Crimes Ravinder Reddy, CCRB ACP Kalinga Rao, Narcotics Inspector Shivaprasad and their team.
