Hyderabad: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Police of Cyberabad arrested a person involved in forgery and cheating. The accused allegedly created fabricated and forged documents of government land in Allipur village, Shivampet Mandal, Medak district, as private property and cheated people of more than Rs 1.2 crores.
Disclosing the case details, DCP EOW Cyberabad K Prasad said that the accused was identified as Udandapuram Narsimlu, a resident of Ratnapur Village in Shivampet Mandal.
The complainant is NVV Subrahmanyam, a priest at Sri Nikhila Sai Maitreya Madhusudhana Saraswati Peetham (Service Society) at Suraram Colony, Jeedimetla.
Subramanyam is a resident of Suraram, Quthbullapur Mandal, Medchal-Malkajgiri district.
Case details
According to police records, Narsimlu made Subramanyam believe that a piece of government land was his private property and collected Rs 1,20,00,000 from him and Rs 50,00,000 (Rs 50 lakhs) from another person, Aleti Kumar.
The DCP said that Subramanyam intended to purchase the land in the Shivampet Mandal area to construct a temple. While he was searching for the land, in 2018, he got acquainted with the accused at the tahsildar office of Shivampet Mandal.
There, Narsimlu introduced himself as an employee working at the office. He made Subramanyam believe that he was in line for a promotion as the deputy tahsildar. Narsimlu assured Subramanyam that he would provide the land to construct the temple.
As per his plan, the accused showed him some government land on the outskirts of Alipur village and Subramanyam agreed to purchase the land.
Later, the accused created fake and fabricated pahanis and other related documents and claimed they were issued by the tahsildar of Shivampet Mandal. He gave the documents to Subramanyam in exchange for Rs 1,20,00,000. Likewise, Narsimlu cheated Aleti Kumar by collecting Rs 50,00,000 from him.
Based on a complaint filed by Subramanyam, a case has been registered under Cr. No. 77/2024 under sections 420, 406, 467, 468, 471 IPC of EOW PS, Cyberabad, the DCP added.
