Cyberabad police recover 345 stolen, lost mobile phones in 30 days

Hyderabad: The IT Cell and Social team of the Cyberabad police successfully recovered 345 mobile devices in 30 days using the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal. The recovered mobile phones were handed over to their respective owners on Thursday at the Cyberabad Commissionerate main conference hall by DCP Crimes K Narasimha.

Narasimha said, ā€œMobile phones are crucial in our daily lives, holding a lot of important information and memories. Thieves are relentless. Hence the police must be persistent in recovery efforts. Despite many people being educated, few know how to prevent stolen mobiles from being misused.ā€




The DCP advised the public to report lost mobile phone details to the police station concerned or to the CEIR portal where they can report themselves directly to the CEIR portal online which is operational in all States and Union Territories.

The DCP Crimes appreciated ACP Crimes Kalinga Rao, IT Cell inspector Jagadeeshwar and the entire IT Cell team for their successful recovery of the mobile phones. The recipients of the recovered mobile phones expressed their happiness and gratitude.
