`Cybercrime one of fastest-evolving threats’: Telangana DGP Dr Jitender banks on `Vyuha Labs’
Hyderabad: The Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB), in partnership with the International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIIT-H), has launched Vyuha Labs, a cutting-edge cyber innovation hub aimed at developing advanced solutions to tackle emerging cyber threats.
A State-of-the-Art facility for cyber innovation
Located on the IIIT Hyderabad campus, Vyuha Labs spans over 3,000 square feet and is equipped with specialized infrastructure and tools to support research, innovation, and the development of next-generation cybersecurity technologies.
The hub will act as a collaborative platform connecting start-ups, academia, and industry experts.
Promoting research, training, and entrepreneurship
Under a memorandum of understanding between TGCSB and IIIT-H, Vyuha Labs will focus on research, training, and capacity building. The hub will also support entrepreneurs through mentorship and seed-stage opportunities while promoting research in areas such as AI-driven threat detection and digital ecosystem protection.
Officials emphasize collective action against Cybercrime
Telangana DGP Jitender, speaking at the inauguration, described cybercrime as one of the “fastest-evolving threats” in modern times, underscoring the need for collaborative innovation. “Vyuha Labs will not only strengthen Telangana’s digital security but also serve as a model for other states,” he said.
TGCSB Director Shikha Goel highlighted that the hub provides the ecosystem required to create sustainable and scalable digital safety tools.
IIIT Hyderabad Director Sandeep Shukla noted that cybersecurity is both a technological and societal challenge and expressed confidence that the hub would accelerate impactful innovations to protect citizens and enterprises alike.
The inauguration was attended by senior police officials, IIIT Hyderabad leadership, and industry representatives, with DGP Jitender officially inaugurating the facility.
