Death claim case: Mancherial assistant labour officer arrested by ACB for taking Rs 50,000 bribe
Mancherial: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials caught the assistant labour officer of Mancherial, who is also holding Full Additional Charge (FAC) of Sirpur Kagaznagar, red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 on Friday.
Bribe demanded for processing the death claim
According to ACB officials, Katam Ram Mohan, assistant labour officer, demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000 from a complainant to process and forward an application seeking an accidental death claim and funeral charges.
The claim was related to the death of the complainantās brother, who was a registered building construction labourer.
Caught at residence
The officer was trapped at his residence while accepting the bribe amount. Officials recovered the tainted cash from his possession. Both his hand fingers tested positive in the chemical test conducted during the operation.
ACB stated that the officer performed his duties dishonestly to obtain an undue advantage. He has been arrested and will be produced before the Honāble Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Karimnagar.
The case is under investigation, and the identity of the complainant has been withheld for security reasons.
