Accused used dead drops to supply drugs
Hanin said he has been facing financial problems. He contacted drug suppliers for procuring the drug from Bangalore and supplying in Hyderabad to needy consumers through dead drops. i.e. Dead drops are the places where the supplier would hide the drugs in a public place and send a photo and the location of the dead drop to the customer. He would later get paid through mule bank account through Gpay and Phonepe.
Two local drug peddlers held in Kanchanbagh
In another incident, the H-NEW police conducted a joint operation with Kanchanbagh police and apprehended an interstate gang drug supplier and two local drug peddlers. The police seized MDMA weighing 80 grams, 10 LSD blots, three mobile phones, a weighing machine and other materials all worth Rs 13 lakhs.
The Hyderabad Police commissioner said that the interstate drug peddler was identified as Nandakumar aka Lalu, a native of Kochi, Kerala. The local drug peddlers were identified as Mohd. Imran aka Shukoor aka Sahil aka Immu, a resident of Banjara Hills and an offender, and K Naveen, a resident of Chandanagar in Hyderabad.
The accused was born and brought up in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. He discontinued his schooling in Class 5 and as he grew up became addicted to Ganja. Initially, he used to attend various works such as flower decorator, and salesman in Centro but stopped working. His father joined him at Serenity Foundation Rehab Center, RK Puram for three months.
During the lockdown period, he learned car driving and worked as a driver in a private company at Panjagutta and later he developed contacts with the drug dealers.
In February, the Nampally Police arrested him in an NDPS case, seized hash oil from him and sent him to judicial custody. In May, he obtained bail with the help of his wife.
His income was not sufficient for his lavish lifestyle and it was becoming hard to meet and sustain his family's needs. To come out from the debts he planned to go to Bengaluru, procured MDMA and other drugs from foreign nationals as well as local Goa suppliers through his associates Nandakumar, and local supplier K Naveen for cheap and sell to needy persons in Hyderabad for a profit, the CP said.
Modus operandi
In this case, the offenders used to frequent Bengaluru and get the drug to Hyderabad by road. All the communications were done only through WhatsApp and the mode of payment was done by cash on delivery and in rare cases he would receive payments through GPay or PhonePe.
Later, CV Ananad also said that TGANB, along with HNEW, Andhra Pradesh Police and Odisha Police are contemplating conducting a joint operation to raid a hash oil manufacturing unit in Odisha soon. The hash oil manufactured from Odisha and parts of Eastern states was being supplied to Hyderabad. The police would lay a special focus on the manufacturers and transporters to curtail its supply to Hyderabad, he added.
