Fake currency of 15 lakh found in Golconda

Golconda police have busted a fake currency racket and arrested four people for cheating.

The accused have been identified as Sameena alias Ruhi (33) from Tolichowki, Hyderabad; Dhanawant Raj (39) from RTC X Roads, Hyderabad; G Sudarshan (50) from Balapur X Roads, Hyderabad and AS Kishore from Lingampally, Hyderabad.

On November 8, the complainant Mohammed Sohail received a call from Sameena asking him to collect the money of Rs.15 lakhs.

When he met Sameena, she gave him a polythene cover. When he opened the cover and checked, he found five bundles of Rs. 2,000 notes and ten bundles of Rs. 500 notes. All the bundles were covered on the top and bottom with a xerox copy of the original notes. The remaining currency had 'Children Bank of India' printed on them instead of RBI.

Sohail questioned Sameena but she did not give any proper answer and fled away from the scene along with the bag.

Later, Sohail inquired about Sameena and came to know that she took hand loans from several others. He also learnt that she has taken hand loans amounting to approximately Rs. 2 crore from several persons since 2109 and invested it in business. However, she incurred losses.

When people started asking her for money, she hatched a plan along with the other three accused and printed fake currency notes to clear the debts.

Police seized Rs. 2000 x 10 bundles x 10 bunches of bundles (each bundle containing 100 notes) and Rs. 500 x 10 bundles x 9 bunch of bundles (each bundle containing 100 notes).

The accused were produced before the court for judicial remand.
