Forex valued at Rs 1.3 Cr seized at Hyderabad's RGI airport
Identified as 37-year-old Mohammed Mustafa of Hyderabad, he was supposed to travel to Dubai by IndiGo Airlines flight at 8:55 am.
By Newsmeter Network Published on 24 March 2021 8:17 AM GMTHyderabad: Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Wednesday foiled a foreign currency smuggling bid and recovered money valued at Rs 1.03 crore from a passenger at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad.
A CISF surveillance team led by Head Constable Jitender Kumar noticed suspicious activities of a passenger while entering the terminal building of Hyderabad Airport. The passenger was diverted to a random X-BIS machine point for thorough checking of his luggage.
Identified as 37-year-old Mohammed Mustafa of Hyderabad, he was supposed to travel to Dubai by IndiGo Airlines flight at 8:55 am.

During x-ray screening, CISF personnel observed a suspicious image inside his bag and referred the bag for physical checking. On physical checking, the foreign currencies of different countries were found concealed inside the sweet boxes.
The approximate value of the recovered high volume of foreign currency is Rs 1.03 crore. Senior officers of CISF and Customs were immediately informed about the seizure
On inquiry, Mohammed Mustafa could not produce any valid document for carrying foreign currency.
Later, he along-with recovered a high volume of foreign currency was handed over to Customs Officials for further investigation.
