Hyderabad: The Income Tax Department has warned people that scammers are circulating forged and fake appointment orders with the intention to cheat the public.
The department said that these documents falsely claim recruitment to various posts under the guise of government authority.
“The Income Tax Department categorically clarifies that no such appointment orders have been issued. No individual, agent or private agency is authorised to issue employment offers or collect money on behalf of the Department,” the department said in a public notice.
Follow only authorised sources for recruitment notifications
The I-T department confirmed that their recruitment is carried out strictly in accordance with prescribed government procedures and is announced only through official government websites and authorised notifications.
Public are advised to remain vigilant and not fall prey to such fraudulent activities.
Any request for payment, unofficial communication or promise of employment with the Income Tax Department should be treated as suspicious. Citizens are strongly encouraged to verify all recruitment-related information exclusively from official government sources.
Report fraud to the nearest govt authority
In case of any doubt or suspected fraud, the matter should be reported immediately to the nearest police authority or to the Income Tax Department.
This public advisory is issued in the interest of safeguarding citizens from fraud and protecting the integrity and reputation of the Income Tax Department, the department said.
