Chandanagar police bust land fraud, 8 arrested for forging ownership papers
Hyderabad: The Chandanagar Police in Cyberabad have uncovered a large-scale forgery and land encroachment racket, arresting eight persons for illegally usurping government land belonging to the Social Welfare Department.
The arrests took place on March 31 and April 1, several months after a complaint was registered on October 28, 2025, concerning the fraudulent takeover of prime land in Chandanagar Village.
What is the case about?
According to a press note issued by the Chandanagar Police Station, the accused conspired to criminally trespass into government land in Chandanagar Village, Serilingampally Mandal. This land legally belongs to the Social Welfare Department and was set aside for public purposes.
These purposes included housing for the weaker sections and community facilities.
Fake GHMC house numbers created
The accused allegedly employed a sophisticated method to fabricate ownership.
Police investigations revealed the group fabricated GHMC (Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation) house numbers.
They created fake house photographs to project non-existent structures on vacant government land. The group generated bogus PTIN (Property Tax Identification Number) numbers and executed fraudulent registered sale deeds, using these forged documents to illegally claim ownership of the property.
#Hyderabad #Chandanagar police have uncovered a major conspiracy involving an attempt to illegally usurp valuable government land belonging to the Social Welfare Department, specifically located in Survey Numbers 373, 374, and 375.
