Former Facebook employee held for door-to-door delivery of drugs

Hyderabad: A former employee of Facebook, who was involved in supplying drugs in the city, has been arrested by special teams of the Enforcement Wing in Hyderabad on Friday. The accused, Motilal Narsing Balaji Singh, 35, had quit Facebook a few years ago and had even worked as a delivery boy for Swiggy. But he had quit that job too a year ago and got into working full time as a drug supplier to different parts of the city. The excise officials seized 830 grams of hashish oil packed in 83 plastic containers and ganja weighing 1.2 kg from him.

According to the police, Balaji Singh had completed his MS in Canada. He took an addiction to cannabis and during his stint as a delivery boy for Swiggy, he came in contact with some drug peddlers at Dhoolpet and started delivering ganja to software employees and hostel students at Hitech city, Madhapur, Gachibowli and Kondapur areas. He used to purchase ganja from Sateesh Singh and Raj Chander of Dhoolpet at Rs 8,000 per kg. Recently, he came into contact with another peddler, Narsing, who had previously operated from Jumeratbazar of Dhoolpet and had recently shifted to Narsipatnam in Vizag.

At his instance, Balaji Singh went to Narsipatnam and brought a kg of hashish oil for Rs 20,000 and three kg of ganja for Rs 4,000 per kg. He had returned to the city four days ago. He then started providing the drugs through door-to-door delivery in small quantities to the customers in Madhapur, Gachibowli and surrounding areas. He charges Rs 1,000 for 10 grams of hashish oil and Rs 600 for one packet of ganja weighing 15 grams.
