The city police chief, Ch. Srikanth, had formed five special teams to look for the missing girls.
The police said the four students were influenced by movies and, unable to bear academic pressure, left their homes. The four friends had left a letter behind.
In the letter, the girls asked their families not to search for them and said they are going on a long journey to stand on their own feet. "We are going seeking a better future, not to trouble you, and we will return once we reach good position," they added.
The city police chief said the teams traced the missing girls to the Gajuwaka locality in Vizag city on Thursday evening. The girls were found near a jewellery store in the city. The police said that they will soon disclose the reasons why the girls left home.
