Gambling racket busted in Ghatkesar; 12 arrested

Hyderabad: The special operations team (SOT), Malkajgiri zone, along with the Ghatkesar police busted a gambling racket that was operating from a poultry farm in Ghatkesar and arrested 12 persons on 7 June.
The police seized Rs. 2.23 lakh cash, 12 mobile phones, and other incriminating material – all worth Rs. 2.50 lakhs – from their possession.
The arrested persons have been identified as M. Sudhakar Reddy (56), Aziz Pasha (61), Y. Raghu (36), P. Akhil (27), M. Sai Kumar (27), G. Ramakrishna (45), K. Srinu (35), V. Satyanarayana (38), L. Sathish Reddy, Mohammad Feroz (34), K. Avinash (34), and A. Ashok (41). The main organiser – Mahesh – is absconding.
Based on credible information, the police raided an old poultry farm in Gattu maisamma, under the Ghatkesar police station limits, and apprehended the 12 people who were playing cards and betting money.
