‘Ganja Don’ Neethubai’s house in Nanakramguda raided; three arrested

Hyderabad: The Special Task Force (STF) busted a ganja peddling operation at Nanakramguda on Tuesday after raiding the residence of a notorious drug dealer known as Neethubai.

The STF seized 786 grams of ganja, liquor stock, cash worth Rs 60,890 and a two-wheeler, and arrested three persons, including Neethubai’s son.

Tip-off leads to raid

Acting on specific intelligence that ganja was being sold from Neethubai’s residence, an STF-B team led by Team Leader Pradeep Rao, along with CI Biksha Reddy and SI Balaraju, conducted a swift operation at the house.

During the raid, officials recovered 786 grams of ganja, 110 bottles of beer and Breezer, one two-wheeler, Rs 60,890 in cash, suspected to be proceeds from drug sales.

Three arrested, Odisha link revealed

The STF arrested Govind, Durgesh and Durgaprasad, the son of Neethubai. During interrogation, the accused reportedly confessed that the ganja was sourced from Odisha and sold locally.

Case handed over to excise

The arrested persons, along with the seized ganja, liquor and cash, were handed over to the Serilingampally Excise Station for further investigation and legal action.

1.2 kg ganja seized in Nampally; two women arrested

In another operation under the Nampally Excise Station limits, the STF-A team led by Team Leader Anji Reddy seized 1.2 kilograms of ganja from Mangoor Basti.

Two women from Odisha—Parimala Kamble and S Basanti—were arrested. Meanwhile, Saketh Babu and Kamble Murali are currently absconding.

The seized contraband and the accused were handed over to the Nampally Excise Station. A case has been registered against the four.
