Hyderabad: A 16-month-old toddler was killed after a Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) garbage-collecting auto ran over him in Krishna Nagar Colony in Moula-Ali, Malkajgiri.

The victim, Mohammed Rajak Ahmed Khadri, was playing outside his house when the GHMC auto arrived in the area for garbage collection. The auto driver, identified as Mohammed Jeeshan, was reversing the vehicle when the child got scared and ran towards his house.

Unfortunately, the driver’s negligence caused him to hit the toddler and the back tyre of the auto passed over him. As a result, the child lost consciousness and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital by his family.

However, despite the best efforts of the hospital staff, the child was declared dead upon arrival. The doctor on duty said the severity of the injuries suffered by the child was too much to save his life.
