Hyderabad: Police have rescued two Hyderabad businessmen who were abducted by a group of men in Goa. Eleven kidnappers were also detained. The victims, who work for a businessman in the city, had gone to Goa to meet their vendor. As both parties were having disputes over financial issues, the vendor and his men kidnapped the duo from Hyderabad. One of the accused is linked to the outlawed PFI.

According to the Gandhinagar Police, Jairaj Kumar Chintamani, a 42-year-old businessman from Bhoiguda, was called by Syaad Gulab Shah, the proprietor of SA Imports & Exports, to Goa for a business discussion on February 17.

During the discussion, they were kidnapped and physically abused in a house. The kidnappers used their ' phones to demand a ransom of Rs 3.5 to 4 crore for their safe release. A kidnapping case was registered at Gandhi Nagar police. Police alerted their Goa counterparts and shared the details of the victims.

DSP Crime Branch, Goa police Suraj Halarnkar said one of the accused identified as Altaf Shah of Margao, Goa, is suspected to be associated with Popular Front of India (PFI) which was recently banned by the Union Government. He is involved in a case charged under the unlawful activities prevention act (UAPA). A team from Gandhinagar police had also gone to Goa to bring back the victims.
