Guntur horror: Woman, her paramour smother husband to death; watched porn beside his body

Guntur: A woman allegedly killed her husband with the help of her lover and then spent the entire night watching porn videos, according to a police investigation.

Suspicious death raises doubts

Duggirala Sub-Inspector Venkata Ravi on Wednesday said that the incident occurred at Chiluvuru village in Duggirala mandal. Lokam Shivanagaraju, an onion trader, was found dead at his residence under suspicious circumstances two days ago.

Initially, the family was told that he had died due to chest pain. However, visible injuries on the body raised suspicion among friends and relatives, prompting a police complaint.

Marital life and extramarital affair

The SI said that Shivanagaraju married Lakshmi Madhuri in 2007, and the couple has two sons. Madhuri was working at a cinema theatre ticket counter in Vijayawada, where she became acquainted with Gopi, a resident of Sattenapalli. The acquaintance gradually developed into an extramarital relationship.

Venkata Ravi said Madhuri looked down upon her husband’s onion business and forced him to discontinue it. As Gopi was running a car travel business in Hyderabad, Madhuri sent her husband there for work. However, Shivanagaraju later returned to Chiluvuru, leading to frequent disputes between the couple.

The SI said Shivanagaraju’s presence at home became an obstacle to Madhuri’s relationship with her lover.

Planned murder

Determined to eliminate her husband, Madhuri allegedly executed a planned murder on the night of January 18. She cooked biryani and mixed around 20 sleeping pills into Shivanagaraju’s portion. After consuming the food, he fell into a deep sleep.

Around 11.30 p.m., her lover Gopi arrived at the house. Police said Gopi sat on Shivanagaraju’s chest while Madhuri used a pillow to smother her husband to death. After ensuring that he was dead, Gopi left the house.

Night spent watching porn videos

According to the police, Madhuri remained alone in the house after the murder and spent the entire night watching porn videos on her phone. In the early hours of the morning, around 4 a.m., she alerted neighbours, claiming that her husband had died due to chest pain.

Injuries expose the crime

Neighbours, who were aware of the couple’s frequent quarrels and Madhuri’s extramarital relationship, grew suspicious. As preparations were underway to shift the body for last rites, Shivanagaraju’s friends noticed blood oozing from his ear and an injury near it.

They immediately informed his father, who lodged a complaint with the police.

Post-mortem confirms murder

A case was registered and the body sent for post-mortem examination. The autopsy report revealed that the victim had fractured chest bones and had died due to suffocation.

During interrogation, Madhuri confessed to the crime, following which the entire sequence of events came to light. Further investigation is underway.
