Guntur woman dies after run over by a lorry

Guntur: In a shocking incident, a woman was killed after she was run over by a lorry. The incident occurred in the Guntur district when the woman and her two children were traveling from Chilakaluripet to Guntur.

According to the police, 40-year-old Ramana from Chilakaluripeta has been into collecting scrap materials for her living. She took a lorry from Chilakaluripeta. When Ramana gave Rs 100, the driver demanded Rs 200, which she refused. The lorry driver tried to snatch away the cellphone in her daughter's hand.

As the lorry driver tried to escape, Ramana's daughter got into the lorry. Immediately, Ramana too tried to catch hold of the lorry. However, within seconds, she slipped and fell under the wheels. The lorry driver who saw the woman dead left her daughter on the road and ran away.

Police reached the spot and registered a complaint.
