Hayatnagar cops arrest man who ran over, killed 3-year-old girl
The accused has been identified as the husband of a sub-inspector working in the Ranga Reddy district Excise department
By Newsmeter Network Published on 26 May 2023 11:26 AM GMTHyderabad: The Hayatnagar police have arrested the owner of a car involved in a case of careless driving that led to the tragic death of a three-year-old girl. The car has been seized from the owner.
The accused has been identified as the husband of a sub-inspector working in the Ranga Reddy district Excise department. Inspector H. Venkateswarlu of Hayatnagar provided details about the case. The couple, K. Kavitha and Raju, originally from Shabad in Karnatakaās Gulbarga district, migrated to Hyderabad a few months ago in search of better livelihood opportunities. They currently reside in SD Nagar of BN Reddynagar.
On Wednesday, Kavitha, who works as a labourer, took her daughter Lakshmi with her to a construction site in Hayathnagarās Lecturers Colony, near Balaji Arcade. Since Lakshmi fell asleep, Kavitha took her to the nearby Balaji Arcade apartment parking area and laid her down on the floor to continue her nap. Unfortunately, Hari Ramakrishna (39), the owner of the car, who was unaware of the sleeping child, parked his car and accidentally ran over Lakshmi with the front tire, causing severe injuries that resulted in her immediate death.
Following a complaint filed by the girlās mother, the police reviewed the CCTV footage from the scene. Hariramakrishna, the owner of the car, was taken into custody, and the vehicle was seized. However, the police later released the man after serving him a notice under 41 CrPC. The Hayatnagar police are currently investigating the case.
