Hyderabad: Telangana police have created WhatsApp groups to monitor the health condition of COVID infected cops. Police have also decided to set up Health Monitoring Coordination Committees in all commissionerates and districts.

On Wednesday, DGP M Mahender Reddy held a video conference with heads of different wings, range IGs, DIGs, Commissioners and Superintendents of Police. He said the department is giving top priority to the welfare of the staff. WhatsApp groups have been created with COVID positive cops and doctors as its members.

It would act as an interface between doctors, cops, and experts. Doctors would monitor the health condition of the members and help them in recovery. DGP said experts should give tips to help people to overcome psychological trauma. He called upon senior officers and Station House Officers to join these groups.

He also requested the unit officers to organize Zoom conferences with the affected staff to improve their morale. "All affected staff should be supplied with immunity-boosting dry fruits, medical kits and their condition should be monitored from time to time. Even after taking all measures, if someone needs hospitalization, they should be admitted to the nearby Covid facility," he said.

Meanwhile, over 707 teams comprising health and GHMC employees carried out the door to door fever survey in GHMC limits on Wednesday. Each team comprises ANM, an Aasha worker, and a GHMC worker. They go door to door and check on the residents.

Around 41,305 houses were checked on Wednesday. These teams will gather information about people suffering from fever and monitor their health condition. Anti-Larva solution was sprayed in locations with more cases. The survey began on Monday.
