Hyd police invoke PD Act against slain gangster Nayeem's supporter

By Newsmeter Network Published on 29 Dec 2022 2:40 PM GMTHyderabad: The Hyderabad police invoked the PD Act and detained Muddunuri Sheshaiah alias Sheshanna alias Peddanna, an associate and staunch supporter of slain gangster Nayeemuddin alias Nayeem. He is lodged in Central Prison, Chanchalguda.
Peddanna, a former Naxalite of the Peoples War Group, has committed 11 offences, including the brutal murders of Vadthya Ramulu in 2004 at Achampet; Kanaka Chary, a government teacher, in 2005 at Mahaboobnagar; Chenchu Govindu in 2005 at Farahabad crossroads in Mahaboobnagar district; Sridhar Reddy at Pahadishareef in 2011; Patolla Govardhan Reddy in 2011 at Boggulakunta; Srinivas Rao, a dismissed constable, at Achampet in 2013; and ex-naxalite Konapuram Ramulu in 2014 at Nalgonda town. He was involved in extortions across the state since 2004. He carried country-made firearms to use in the commission of such offences. He was also absconding in five previous cases and was hiding to evade arrest.
On 27 September 2022, Peddanna was caught red-handed by the Golconda police while he was carrying a country-made pistol and five live rounds. A case was registered against him under Section 25 (1) (1A) of the Indian Arms Act 1959. The pistol and ammunition were seized. He confessed that earlier, he supplied country-made pistols and five live rounds to his associate and realtor Mohd. Abdullah alias Suresh Goud and the same were also seized by the Humayun Nagar police.
