Hyderabad: The Rachakonda police on 9 June caught three persons, including a city-based techie, with MDMA pills and cocaine worth over Rs. 1 lakh.
The three were identified as Diana, an interstate drug peddler from Goa; Aditya, a techie based in Hyderabad; and Chetan, a businessman from Hyderabad. The police seized 20 pink pills (MDMA pills) worth Rs. 60,000, four grams of white powder (cocaine) worth Rs. 48,000, two cars worth Rs. 60 lakhs, and cash Rs. 60,000 from them along with four cell phones.
The police received reliable information from credible sources about the illegal transportation and possession of banned drugs. Based on the information, D. Anil, SI of Choutuppal police station, along with his officers, the Rachakonda special operations team (SOT), and revenue officials conducted an operation near Highway-9 hotel on the outskirts of Choutuppal and apprehended the three people.
The police found that Diana visits Hyderabad, Vijayawada, and Visakhapatnam regularly to supply drugs to consumers. As part of her regular trade, she used to visit the outskirts of Choutuppal to supply drugs to Aditya and Chetan.
Diana's husband, a Nigerian national who is also an accused in the case, sources the contraband from unknown sources and supplies them to various customers in Goa and other cities through Diana.
