Hyderabad: Sankranthi festival turned tragic for a family after a 11-year-old died of electrocution at Attapur Lakshmi Vani Towers, under the jurisdiction of the Attapur police station.
The victim, identified as Tanishk from Maharashtra, was enjoying the festivities, flying kites with his brother and friends on Friday when the incident occurred. While flying kites, Tanishk got in contact to a electric wire of an air-conditioner.
Tanishk suffered a fatal electric shock, rendered him unconscious, and despite swift efforts by his family to rush him to the hospital, the doctors declared him dead.
Attapur Inspector Yadagiri said, "Preliminary investigations suggest that the young boy came in contact with an AC current while flying a kite. The exact circumstances leading to the electric shock are yet to be determined and a case is registered and currently under investigation,"
