Hyderabad: 3 held for posing as astrologers, cheating people
The accused were caught red-handed by the SOT on Wednesday.

Hyderabad: The special operations team (SOT) of Madhapur zone arrested three persons for cheating people by posing as astrologers.
The accused have been identified as Ernala Saraiah (36), Gittha Shiva Kumar (26), and Gittha Sagar (20). They were caught red-handed by the SOT on Wednesday.
According to the police, the suspects would approach innocent people in their cars and convince them that they had problems that could only be solved by performing pujas. They would then take money from their victims and perform meaningless rituals before leaving. Acting on a tip-off, the SOT apprehended the suspects while they were attempting to cheat people in the Goldenmile Layout area of Kokapet, under Narsangi police station limits.
Upon searching the suspects, the police found Rs. 84,000 cash, four cell phones, a car, and property worth Rs. 12 lakhs. The police have filed a case against the accused and handed it over to the Narsangi police for further investigation.
