Hyderabad: An iron-rod-wielding man stormed a hotel and killed its owner in cold blood at Anjaiyanagar in Gachi Bowli.

Identified as Chelluri Srinivas (54) from Yusufguda, he and his 28-year-old son Keshav Vinay were running CS Delight Inn Hotel in Anjaiyanagar

Srinivas had rented a room behind the hotel for storage purposes. The incident stems from a dispute over the parking of a vehicle near the storeroom.

Rayadurgam Police Station Inspector Venkanna said the altercation began when an auto trolley was parked near the storeroom to unload the goods last year.

Mahender (35), living adjacent to the storeroom, objected to the auto trolley causing disturbance to the flow of traffic. This led to a confrontation between Mahender and Srinivas. Mahender objected to a parked vehicle. Locals intervened and pacified the situation.

However, Mahender felt insulted and harbored a grudge against Srinivas.

Eyewitnesses reported that Mahender entered the hotel premises armed with an iron rod and attacked Srinivas, who was seated on a sofa.

Keshav and hotel staff intervened and rushed the gravely injured Srinivas to Care Hospital. Despite efforts to save him, Srinivas succumbed to his injuries at 11:45 pm.

Following a complaint lodged by Srinivas's son, the police have initiated an investigation into the incident. The motive behind the attack is believed to be Mahender's lingering animosity towards Srinivas stemming from a dispute over parking last year.
