Hyderabad: A bank employee reportedly ended her life after allegedly failing to cope with the work-related stress.
The incident occurred under the jurisdiction of the Bachupally police station in Hyderabad.
According to Inspector J. Upender of the Bachupally police station, the deceased has been identified as Kota Satya Lavanya (32), a native of Pithapuram in Andhra Pradesh.
Satya Lavanya was married to Bathula Veeramohan, an IT professional, for five years. The couple resided in KCR Colony at M.N. Residency, Bachupally.
Satya Lavanya worked as an Assistant Manager at the Bank of Indiaās Rajeev Gandhi Nagar branch. Sources close to her revealed that she had been expressing concerns to her relatives about the immense work pressure she was facing at the bank. The couple had reportedly been planning to visit their hometown for the Sankranti festival on Friday.
On Thursday afternoon, after informing her superiors about leaving work early, Satya Lavanya returned home. Shortly after, she went to the terrace of her apartment building and ended her life. Neighbors, upon witnessing the incident, rushed her to a nearby hospital. Despite their efforts, she succumbed to her injuries.
Inspector Upender stated that an investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances leading to her death. The police have registered a case and are in the process of gathering statements from her family, friends, and colleagues. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
