Hyderabad: Hyderabad Cybercrime police have arrested a 29-year-old man from Delhi for threatening, blackmailing, and extracting money from innocent girls.

Police arrested the accused after a 17-year-old girl lodged a complaint in Hyderabad. The accused morphed her photos and later blackmailed her.

According to the complainant, the accused got in touch with her on Instagram. The accused used to speak to her frequently. He then started blackmailing her after morphing her Instagram pictures.

The accused threatened to share her pictures if she did not recharge his mobile phone.

Modus Operandi:

The accused, a habitual womanizer, has the habit of creating fake Instagram accounts for trapping innocent girls. He used to send friend requests to unknown girls and women.

Later, he shared his Whatsapp number with them and collected nude photos of victims. He then used to blackmail them and ask them to recharge his mobile phone otherwise he would post their pictures on social media.

Advisory:

Police have issued an advisory cautioning the public against responding to random friend requests on social media. People have also been advised not to share their personal information and photos with unknown persons.
