Hyderabad: Four people lost their lives after their car crashed into a stationary truck on the Outer Ring Road near Adibatla in the early hours of Friday.
Accident occurred around 4 AM
The mishap took place around 4 am when the car was heading from Pedda Amberpet towards Bonguluru. Police said that near Pillar No. 108, close to the Bonguluru Exit, the driver lost control of the steering and rammed the vehicle into the truck from behind.
Victims died on the spot
The deceased were identified as Maloth Chandu Lal (29), Gaguloth Janardhan (50), Kavali Balaraju (40), and Jada Krishna (42).
While three persons suffered severe injuries and died on the spot. Another passenger, who was injured in the accident, was shifted to a private hospital in BN Reddy Nagar for treatment. However, he also succumbed to injuries in the hospital.
Bodies pulled out from mangled car
Upon receiving information, teams from Adibatla and Ibrahimpatnam police stations reached the accident site. The bodies, which were stuck in the mangled remains of the car, were retrieved after a strenuous rescue operation.
Truck driver absconding
Police said that efforts are underway to trace the truck driver who fled the scene after the collision. A case has been registered and an investigation is ongoing, the police added.
