Hyderabad: Cops foil murder plot, arrest 5 history sheeters with pistol, live rounds

Hyderabad: The sleuths of the Commissioner’s Task Force, along with local police have apprehended five persons who were allegedly going to commit murder.

The police seized a country-made pistol, five live rounds, four knives, a two-wheeler and a mobile phone from the accused. The police also found that the accused were history sheeters with one having a robbery charge at the Narsingi police station and another with four active NBWs (non-bailable warrants).

All accused have criminal records

Disclosing the case details before media persons at CCS Basheer Bagh office here on Saturday, DCP Task Force (Hyderabad) S Rashmi Perumal identified the accused for the public.

The main accused is Shaik Irfan Ahmed (27) aka ‘shooter’ Irfan. He is involved in 34 property and bodily offences i.e. robbery, dacoity, extortion and attempted murder. The other accused are Mohd Arif (27), a welder; Mohd Akbar Pasha (28), an automobile electrician; Syed Abdul Raheem Quizar, a worker at Madani Hotel and Shaik Ismail (27). All of them have crime sheets at various police stations in the state.

The main accused’s previous charge was for murder

The DCP said, Shaik Ismail Adil is a notorious criminal rowdy sheeter with over 16 murders, robbery and other cases to his name in the tri-commissionerate area.

In January, he brutally murdered one of his associates Mubarak Sigar – a rowdy sheeter of Balapur, Rachkonda. He was recently released from jail and was found in possession of a deadly knife with the intention to commit further offences.

Personal enmity led to a murder plan

The DCP said that Shaif Irfan Ahmed has four NBWs against him at the Madhapur and Raidurgam police stations. Shooter Irfan is a notorious rowdy sheeter under the Rajendra Nagar PS limits and was involved in many bodily and property offences.

Due to previous enmity with one Shaik Ismail, he hatched a conspiracy to eliminate him. For the murder plan, he procured a country-made pistol and five live rounds for Rs 20,000 from Nanded, the DCP said.

As part of his plan, Irfan contacted his friends Mohd Arif, Mohd Akbar Pasha and Syed Abdul Raheem Quizar Yaqoob and shared his plan to eliminate Shaik Ismail and asked for help.

However, before they could execute their plan, they were apprehended by the South East Task Force team from the Shah Inayat Gunj area along with the contraband.

Moreover, Shaik Irfan Ahmed and Mohd Arif have also committed robbery recently under the limits of Narsingi police station and have been absconding ever since, the DCP said.

The police registered a case under sections 25(1A) of the Arms Act at Langer Houz PS and the accused was remanded. The case is under investigation, the DCP said.

The public is requested to inform police regarding any criminal/rowdyism-related behaviour by rowdy sheeters or other anti-social elements so as to effectively curb the same and create a deterrent.
