Hyderabad: The sleuths of the commissioner's task force, west zone, Hyderabad, arrested three drug peddlers on 31 December and seized drugs worth Rs. 10.18 lakhs.

The three accused - Nikhil Shenoy (32), Faiz Mevati (20), and Meroz Khan (31) – were selling drugs like MDMA, LSD, Ecstasy pills, and ganja from a flat in Sangamitra Apartments, East Marredpally, where Nikhil lived. The police seized 10 grams of MDMA, 70 LSD blots, 60 Ecstasy pills, 1.4 kg weed/hash oil, 11 kg ganja, and three cell phones from their possession.

According to the police, Nikhil got acquainted with a businessman, Injoth Singh, five years ago. It was through him that he met Faiz and Meroz. Nikhil told the two that he intended to sell drugs in Hyderabad and needed mediators to sell the contraband to the customers. Faiz and Meroz started working for Nihil.

Faiz would go to Mumbai to purchase MDMA. Nikhil had also befriended Faisal of Tarnaka, Hyderabad, who supplied weed/hash oil, Ecstasy pills, and LSD, and Govind of Adilabad district who supplied ganja. Nikhil purchased drugs from them and sold them to customers at high rates through Faiz and Meroz.

The gang purchased 1 gram of MDMA for Rs. 2,000 and sold the same for Rs. 6,000, while they purchased one LSD blot for Rs. 1,000 and sold the same for Rs. 1,500. They paid Rs. 1,000 for an Ecstasy pill and sold the same for Rs. 1,500. They also purchased one kg weed/hash oil for Rs. 80,000 and sold it for Rs. 2,000 per five gms. The ganja that they bought for Rs. 5,000 per kg, they sold it for Rs. 10,000 per kg.

Following a tip-off, the west zone task force police laid a trap and apprehended the accused persons at Sangamitra Apartments in East Marredpally on Thursday. Two persons, Faisal and Govind, are absconding.

The accused persons along with the seized material were handed over to the SHO of Tukaramgate police station.
