Hyderabad: A family of three were found dead under suspicious circumstances in their apartment in Sanath Nagar.
The deceased have been identified as R. Venkatesh (59), his wife Madhavi (52), and their son Harikrishna (25). Their bodies were discovered in their bathroom by the apartment's maid and a security guard.
Primary investing found that, it would be the gas from the heater cause their death. According to doctors, the initial report revealed that carbon monoxide gas released from the gas-based heater claimed their lives. It appears that the three individuals inhaled the colorless, tasteless, and odorless gas, which caused them to lose consciousness within five minutes.
R. Venkatesh, head of the business unit at Signode Transit Packing Solutions, has been residing in Hyderabad since 2014. Earlier, he was putting up in Visakhapatnam.
The family rented a flat on the second floor of the Aakruti Presidency Apartment in the Czech Colony. Their son Harikrishna, who had a mental disability, was cared for solely by his parents.
When their maid Varalakshmi arrived at the apartment at 11:30 am on Sunday, she began work in the kitchen. She returned at 4 pm to hand over the plates given to her by Madhavi the previous day, she noticed the house was empty and searched the premises. Finding no one, she became suspicious.
At 6 pm, Varalakshmi returned with a companion Vijayalakshmi and they searched the house again. Unable to open the bathroom door, they called the apartment watchman Satyanarayana, who forcefully opened it.
They found Venkatesh, Madhavi, and Harikrishna lying dead. Shocked, Varalakshmi, Vijayalakshmi, and Satyanarayana immediately informed the police and the apartment residents.
Residents speculated that electrocution might have caused the deaths, possibly occurring while Harikrishna was being bathed by his parents. Sanath Nagar police, along with Clues team experts, arrived at the scene to collect evidence.
Mallu Prasad, the secretary of the Apartment Welfare Association, said the building had been experiencing frequent short circuits due to an earthing issue. A complaint had been made to the electrical department a few days before the incident.
Sanath Nagar police have registered a case and are currently investigating the incident.
