Hyderabad: Special Operations Team (SOT) of Cyberabad police raided a grocery store for selling ganja chocolates.
Large quantities of ganja chocolates and ganja powder were seized during the operation.
Madhapur SOT police and Jagadgirigutta police launched a joint operation against Jayashree Traders in Anjaiya Nagar, Jagadgirigutta after receiving credible information about the sale of illicit substances.
During the raid, police confiscated 160 packets of ganja chocolates and 4 kilograms of ganja powder from the premises. Shop owner Manoj Kumar Agarwal, a native of Kolkata, was detained by the police for questioning.
Investigation revealed the involvement of Mohan, a trader from Kolkata, who confessed to regularly supplying ganja chocolates to the store. Each packet of these illicit chocolates reportedly contained 40 pieces, with a market value of Rs. 1,000 per packet. The total worth of the seized chocolates is estimated to be around Rs. 2,56,000.
Jagadgirigutta police have booked a case against the accused. The case is currently under investigation.
