Hyderabad: Depressed over marriage cancellation, female cop ends life
Surekha's marriage was fixed last year, but it was canceled for unknown reasons

Hyderabad: A 28-year-old woman constable was found dead at her rented house in Kalavagadda, Shamsherganj.
Inspector Kishan of Shalibanda police station said Surekha was recently transferred to Bhavaninagar police station. However, she was yet to be relieved from her previous posting.
Surekha's marriage was fixed last year, but it was canceled for unknown reasons. On May 1, she got engaged from her hometown, only to find out later that the groom would become the son of the bride's line in relation, and their horoscopes did not match.
This news left Surekha depressed, and she feared that the upcoming marriage would also be canceled.
On May 2, Surekha's sister went to work. When she returned home the next day, she found the doors locked from the inside. Surekha didn't respond to phone calls either. With the help of locals, they broke open the door only to find Surekha dead.
Police have shifted Surekha's body to Osmania Mortuary for post-mortem. The investigation is ongoing.
