Hyderabad: Police have booked eight employees of Srikrishna Jewelers Private Limited (SKJPL), Banjara Hills for stealing gold bars worth ₹6 crore.

The incident has been reported under the jurisdiction of the Banjara Hills police station. According to the police, the theft was discovered during an internal audit by the company.

Two employees, Uday Kumar and Babburi Srikanth, were found to have stolen and sold gold bars. Upon interrogation, Srikanth revealed that Uday Kumar, with the help of several other employees, orchestrated the theft. The group included Chintu, Satya, Ajay, Tinku, and Chandra, all of whom were allegedly operating under the direction of the company's manager, Sukhetu Shah.

HR manager of SKJPL, Vijay Kumar, lodged a complaint with the Banjara Hills police on Thursday. A case has been registered under section 316(4) and 318(4) of the BNS, and the investigation is currently underway. Inspector KM Raghavendra stated that the case has been transferred to the Central Crime Station (CCS) for further investigation.

In a related development, Sukhetu Shah’s wife, Sruti Shah, filed a missing case, stating that her husband has not been seen since the 1st of this month. She further alleged that her husband had been harassed at the workplace for money over the past five days and had left behind a letter and video recording at their residence. The police have registered a missing person case and are investigating the matter.

The investigation into the theft and the disappearance is being looked into by the police.
