Hyderabad: An eight-year-old boy was killed when a tipper truck ran over him in Mailardevpally here.
Victim identified as class II student
The deceased was identified as Syed Riyan, son of Jubairuddin, a resident of Shastripuram. Riyan was studying in Class II at a local private school. According to family members, he had been eagerly waiting to go out and play with his friends throughout the day.
The accident occurred when he was on his way to playground
In the evening, after obtaining permission from his mother, Riyan left home to play cricket at a nearby park. While walking along the left side of the road, he was hit by a tipper truck that was reportedly being driven in a rash and negligent manner.

The child came under the rear tyre of the heavy vehicle, suffering severe head and body injuries. Locals who witnessed the incident tried to help, but the boy succumbed on the spot before any medical assistance could be reached.
Driver escapes; Police launch probe
The Mailardevpally Police reached the spot soon after being alerted. A case has been registered under Sections related to rash and negligent driving causing death, and the driver, who fled the scene, is being tracked down. The vehicle has been seized for investigation.
Residents demand stricter Road Safety
The tragic death has sparked outrage among locals, who blamed reckless driving and a lack of proper speed control measures in residential areas for the incident. They urged authorities to install speed breakers and CCTV surveillance near parks and schools to prevent such mishaps in the future.
