Urdu Academy office gutted in fire caused by short circuit

Police and fire brigade immediately rushed to the scene to douse the blaze. According to Abids Sub-inspector Niranjan, a preliminary investigation revealed that the fire was caused by a short circuit.
Urdu Academy office staff had already finished their duties and locked the office at 5:30 pm, just over an hour before the fire broke out. The building supervisor Imtiaz informed the Fire department and Abids police after he noticed the fire. Police broke the locks of the office and worked alongside the fire brigade to extinguish the flames. Old records, files, and furniture belonging to the Urdu Academy office were destroyed in the fire.
After receiving information, A.K. Khan, the Advisor to the Government for Minority Affairs, along with other senior officials visited Haj House to assess the situation. Masiullah Khan, Chairman of the Waqf Board, also visited the spot. A thorough investigation by the authorities has been launched.
