Hyderabad: Four persons were arrested for cheating car owners by renting out their vehicles without permission.
Raidurgam Police arrested Jupudi Usha, Thudumula Mallesh, Sagar Patil and Anil Jamane for cheating the owners of the cars. The police said that Usha and Mallesh cheated 21 car owners on the pretext of taking their cars on a rental basis. They also share the cars with Sagar Patil and Anil Jamane who would further rent the cars to willing persons using Xerox copies of RCs in Bidar and Bhalki districts of Karnataka State.
When the complainant and other car owners approached Jupudi Usha asking for vehicles to be returned, they did not get a response. A case was registered subsequently. During the course of the investigation, the cars were recovered from the possession of the accused and some other customers who took the cars on rent.
The cars included multiple vehicles of Mahindra Thar, Maruthi Suzuki Ertiga, Toyota Innova, Swift, Hyundai Grand and others with a total worth of Rs 2,50,00,000.
A special team was formed under the directions of Avinash Mohanthy, IPS, Commissioner of Police Cyberabad, under the supervision of Dr Vineeth G, IPS, S Jayaram Addl. DCP Madhapur Zone and CH. Sreekanth, ACP Madhapur Division, CH. Venkanna, SHO Raidurgam PS, by C Satish Kumar, DI Raidurgam PS and Crime Staff of PS Raidurgam. The efforts were appreciated by the superior officers.
