Hyderabad: Police have registered a case after a 20-year-old student pilot was allegedly raped by her instructor.
The victim alleged that the instructor threatened her with dire consequences if she spoke out.
The incident, which reportedly occurred over several months, came to light after the survivor approached the police and filed a complaint earlier this week.
Complaint filed after months of abuse
According to Begumpet inspector P Saidulu, the survivor, a resident of Hyderabad, had enrolled in a pilot training institute in Begumpet in January 2025.
Based on her complaint, the alleged abuse began in December last year when she visited her instructor’s residence in Brahmanwadi for academic guidance.
Threats and continued assault
The accused instructor, identified as Naseemuddin alias Naseem (30), allegedly sexually assaulted her during the visit and threatened to harm her family and ruin her career if she disclosed the incident. Police said the intimidation led to repeated abuse over time.
Second instructor’s premises used for access
As part of her training, the student later began visiting another instructor, Salman Saleem (35), at his residence in Dammaiguda.
Police also revealed that the primary accused shifted his residence to the same locality, continued to intimidate the survivor, and allegedly assaulted her multiple times.
Survivor discontinues training
Unable to endure the trauma, the student reportedly stopped attending training sessions from March 1 this year. After struggling with the distress caused by the incidents, she finally approached the police.
Case Registered, Accused Absconding
Based on the complaint, police have registered a case under Section 63 (rape) of the BNS and launched a manhunt for the accused, who is currently absconding. Further investigation is underway.
