Hyderabad: How 52YO baba tried to lure 18YO girl into marriage citing evil spirits

Hyderabad: Police have booked 52-year-old fake baba after he tried to marry an 18-year-old girl claiming that the wedding will rid her of evil spirits. "An 18-year-old girl from Tolichowki, Hyderabad, sought treatment from Baba Hafeez Pasha (52), head of Rehmatabad Dargah in Nellore. The baba, who claimed that the woman was possessed and that her health was deteriorating, convinced the family members that getting her married to him would save her life,” the report said.

Seemingly convinced by baba's claims, the family made arrangements for a wedding ceremony, which was scheduled to take place on February 11. However, when the groom (baba) failed to show up, the woman's family became suspicious. They later learned that Hafeez Pasha had a history of marrying and cheating on several women.

Police have discovered that there are 13 cases registered against Hafeez Pasha in different police stations in Nellore. Langer House Police Station CI Srinivas said a case has been registered. Police said the baba has been married seven times in the past. The victim's family has expressed their shock and disappointment upon learning of the baba's fraudulent behavior.
